On the Wireless Community Camp 2007, you are hereby invited to join the Workshop "Build your own - Slotted Waveguide Antenna".

A Slotted Waveguide is a very good Antennaprinciple, as described bij Trevor Marshall for 2.4GHz. We will use his drawings.

You can choose wich one to build:
- The 8 x 8 slots omni-antenna, with a maximum gain of 12 dBi.
- The 8 slots single sided sectorial antennea, with a gain of 15 dBi.

Tools to bring:
- Workmate.
- Jigsaw (NL: decoupeerzaag) with blades for alu.
- or a Router (NL: Bovenfrees) with bits.
- Drilling machine + drills.
- Measuring tools (ruler, steel tape, scribe, etc.).

Materials to get from us: (for 1 antenna):
- Aluminium squaretube (100x50x1000x3).
- Bottomplates.
- N-Connector.
- Screws

How it all works:
- Get the materials and the drawings.
- Read everything very well.
- Mark the slots and the positions of the bottomplates.
- Saw the slots.
- Drill the holes for the bottomplates and the connector.
- Mount the bottomplates.
- Mount the connector.

Safety:
- The use of safety-glasses is strongly advised.
- The use of ear-protection is strongly advised.
- The organisation can under no circumstances be held responsible for material and immaterial damage which is caused by this event.

Costs:
30 euro for the materials and drawings.

Performance-guarantee:
None !

Result:
A very good Wi-Fi antenna, horizontally polarised, with a gain of 12 dBi or a sectorantenna with a gain of 15 dBi. Those antennas have a value of around 150 euro.
